N-BEAM Composers in the Spotlight @ Midwest 2018

The three composers of the New Band Electro-Acoustic Music (N-BEAM) consortium will be in the spotlight this December at the Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic, in Chicago.
Benjamin Taylor's composition for the N-BEAM consortium, Techno Blade, will be performed by the Crosby High School Symphonic Band (Crosby, TX), Kevin Knight, Director. Ben will also be part of a panel discussion titled "Before the Double Bar: Insights into the Creative Processes of Five Composers" along with David Biedenbender, Roger Are, Viet Cuong and Jess Turner.
Daniel Montoya will have his work for percussion ensemble, Deus ex Machina, performed by the Science Hill High School Percussion Ensemble (Johnson City, TN), Dan McGuire, Director.
Alex Shapiro will be part of a presentation titled "Bridging the Gender Gap: Developing Strategies for Creating Equity in Ensemble Programming" along with Jacob Wallace, Jeffrey Boeckman, Jennifer Jolley, Chester Phillips and Courtney Snyder.
